Description: | ||
The band: Siouxsie Sioux. The only video in the Banshees cannon that features Siouxsie only. On location in Flagstaff, Arizona, Siouxsie is filmed taking part in a 'real' Beauty Pageant, filmed the day after Siouxsie attended her mother's funeral. The video is unique in that it involves no lip synching. The girls taking part in the pageant range in age from approximately 4 to 15 years old. The video is a mixture of both black and white and colour footage. The girls preen and pamper themselves, Siouxsie included, before they perform for the judges and take part in an interview. Siouxsie is seen in both a long blond wig and a long red wig. In her dressing room Siouxsie has a diva moment, smears the mirror with lipstick, pulls her wig off, and runs down the corridor before taking first prize in the competition. The video was directed by John Hillcoat, renowned film maker, who's first feature was 'Ghosts Of The Civil Dead'.

Description: | ||
The band: Siouxsie Sioux, Steven Severin, Budgie. Both Martin McCarrick and John Klein are absent. Filmed within the confines of the Pump Room, Rotherhithe. The video is a fairly straight forward band performance, although the setting gives the illusion of it being for a private members club, designed by Rebecca Horn. Siouxsie is kitted out like a Kabuki style Elvis. The band perform whilst the club members dance, one of whom is Saffron, lead singer from band Republica. The instrumental passage includes footage of mocked up newspaper headlines commented on the future of the band members. Last video the Banshees filmed.
