The Seven Year Itch Advert - Click Here For Bigger ScanSeven years after declaring "The Banshees 1976-96 RIP", Siouxsie and her sidekicks, painfully ware of the potential pitfalls, decided a reunion tour would be ok after all.  Impressively, though, they avoided any greatest hits party, choosing to play their most abrasive, claws-out material.  Their aim - a cross between krautrock and Bolan - is mostly realised on this shrill, nerve-shredding document of the Shepherd's Bush shows of last July.  Former Psychedelic Fur Knox Chandler takes guitar duties, Budgie's a one-man barrage and Sioux wails with wired angst.  The likes of "Metal Postcard", "Night Shift" and "Voodoo Dolly" will remind you there were scary style queens before Karen O was born.

The Seven Year Itch Live DVD Advert - Click Here For Bigger ScanSouvenir of 'goth punks' reunion last July.  They always swore they'd never get back together.  After seven years they changed their minds.  Anyone who was expecting (hoping?) Siouxsie & The Banshees were simply going to run through their hits, however was in for a long ole night.  Other than the splendidly jerky Peek A Boo, it was all intense, theatrical, minor stuff like Jigsaw feeling, Metal Postcard and Land's End, with Siouxsie herself, as was always her tendency, doing a tidy moose - in - labour impression.  Like most live albums, this fails to get anywhere near their best studio work; and like most reunions you rather wish they hadn't bothered.
